Nancy Roberts Is Still Singing

New Anderson Artists Guild member Nancy Roberts is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. For most of her career, she worked for commercial insurance brokerage firms in the Atlanta area. At the same time, her deepest passion was singing, having majored in voice at Stetson University of DeLand, Florida. Nancy sang for several years with the Atlanta Symphony Chorus under the direction of legendary conductor Robert Shaw.

In 2007, Nancy and her husband retired to Elberton, Georgia, for a more rural environment. In 2018, they moved to Anderson to be closer to medical and retail services. Nancy currently sings in the St. John’s UMC choir and in the Cancer Association of Anderson’s Choir of Hope.

Nancy has recently been exploring watercolor artwork through a class at St. John’s offered by fellow parishioner and AAG member Wesa Neely. Nancy started with floral works and is now trying her hand at landscapes. She says, “I have discovered the joy of creating artwork in the watercolor medium. The process of producing desired colors and textures is both challenging and satisfying. The encouragement offered by Wesa and fellow class members is gratifying.”
